Blog 6- The Truman Show

1. In what ways are Christof and the television network similar to God? In what respects do they differ?
Christof is looked at from trumans point of view as the god of his world. He owns everything in the world that he created especially for truman. Christof is also able to control anything he wants for example the weather the people even sometimes truman himself. But christof has many similarities with God because they are both the one everyone looks up to. And in some ways that they differ is actually no way at all, I tried to think of any differences but i seem not to think of any between them, so i guess they have alot in common.

2.Consider yourself in Truman’s position. If presented with the choice to remain in Seahaven, a place where you have been promised that “you have nothing to fear”, or to enter into another world that you know little or nothing about, which would you choose?
Well if i had the choice to choose the real world and a world where I'm promise everything will be peaceful, i mean yeah everything is gonna be peaceful and great but what makes you think your not gonna get tired of the same bullshit everyday for the rest of your life. So defiently i would have to say that i would choose to escaspe the seahaven and enter the real world.

3.When Truman finally exits Seahaven, what do you think it is that he expects to find on the other side of the door?
Well when thinking about it he really gets the idea that he is being watched when the women kept insisting that he was being recorded. And during the movie there is many shots where he is caught thinking about her a whole lot. So I'm guessing that after he exist he is probably looking for his love.

blog 5- fate,freedom and knowledge

I feel and believe that freewill is the only way that us people live our lives today. I dont believe in fate because it just seems like nonsence knowing that some one else is in control of your on life and makes decisions for you. Everyone has the options of how they life should be or how they would want it to be. For example lets just say you had a girl friend and one of her best friends came up to you and told you that she was thinking of breaking up with you, right at the moment you have the choice of believing her or not, and if you choose to believe her you have many options of making to try to change the way things might end up. So i feel that even when you think something might be fate you are always face with many decisions to make that might end up changing the present.

Blog 4: The Matrix, 55-65

A Metaphysics investigates principles of reality which give us the answer of what is reality and what is imaginary. I would say that a Metaphysics that we often use alot to determine what real to the fake is our 5 senses. These sences help us determine what is real by smell, hearing, sighting, touching and tasting. But one though that I have is, even in a dream we could have all these senses, so if we were to get trapped in our dream how would we tell whats reality and whats not not? But other then that i would say that we could easily tell what real from fake because its basically natural instinct with our minds. So using these senses we will always know what real from fake unless we start loosing our senses little by little and blinded.

While going over of the reading and reviewing the terms "source" and "ontological status" i would say that they are basically separating the imaginary and what doesnt exist and putting them into categories. I have this idea becuase i searched the words on google and also wikipedia and got a definition which gave me an idea of what these terms mean and what they are trying to define as the real world and the imaginary world. When i looked up "ontological" i got this weird defintion " Traditionally listed as a part of the major branch of philosophy known as metaphysics, ontology deals with questions concerning what entities exist or can be said to exist, and how such entities can be grouped, related within a hierarchy, and subdivided according to similarities and differences", By this definition i got the idea that what they mean by this term in the book is they basically ditermining the real world from the dream world by using differences and similarities in each world and determining whats real or fake, And by doing all this they got many resources and facts which prove what they had to say was correct. I would have to agree because they obvioulsy know what they are talking about because they have proven facts and it is also true what they had to say.
